Das englischsprachige Handbuch erleichtert fremdsprachigen Teilnehmenden die Beteiligung an den Rotkreuzkursen. Es beschreibt, woran verschiedenste Verletzungen und Krankheiten zu erkennen sind, und erläutert Schritt für Schritt, wie in Notsituationen vorzugehen ist. Außerdem behandelt es die hochaktuellen Themen „Prävention" und „Persönliche Notfallvorsorge".

Für die zweite Auflage wurden einige fachliche Änderungen vorgenommen. So wurden z. B. die Inhalte der Verbandkästen für Kfz und Betrieb aktualisiert und ein Abschnitt zum Thema Blutvergiftung ergänzt. Auch das Layout des gesamten Handbuches wurde ansprechend überarbeitet.

The manual of the German Red Cross "Easy. Effective. First aid." combines the topics of first aid, first aid on children, first aid for sport and at the workplace for the first time. It describes how to recognize a wide variety of injuries and illnesses and explains how to proceed in emergency situations step by step. It also deals with the highly topical issues of "Prevention" and "Personal Emergency Preparedness". This handbook is based on the information for teaching first aid provided by the German Red Cross.

Some subject-specific changes have been made for the second edition. For example, the contents of the first aid kits for vehicles and companies have been updated and a section on blood poisoning has been added. The layout of the entire handbook has also been attractively revised.
